Crown Point Tree Lighting Ceremony Photos and Video Highlight

Writer's picture: George NikschGeorge Niksch

I was hired by the Crown Point Chamber of Commerce to do photos and video of the Crown Point Tree Lighting Ceremony in Crown Point, Indiana. I landed the gig by filming a networking event pro bono a few years back. In exchange for filming the event I got to be one of the speakers amongst many local business owners. At the event I met Alan Jordan who owns and runs https://digipurpose.com/, a local marketing company in Crown Point. Alan is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and he introduced me to the head of the chamber, Ken Michales. Ken hired me to do both photos and video of the event. It's tough for one person to do both, so I made a behind the scenes video explaining how I was able to pull it off. Basically I used three Lumix S5 cameras with the Panasonic 35mm F1.8, Panasonic 85mm F1.8, and the Sigma 14-24mm F2.8. I used Godox TT685 Speedlights for my flash. I was able to do both photos and video by switching back and forth between photo and video mode by utilizing the custom dials on the cameras while shooting everything handheld. Check out the photos and videos below for the finished product as well as the behind the scenes.
