Fabtech Chicago 2023

At Lakeshore Video, we specialize in capturing high-impact moments for high-performing clients — and this shoot was no exception.

Back in 2023, we partnered with Peddinghaus, a leader in steel fabrication machinery (their tagline: "Stronger Than Steel") to cover a VIP client event held at the luxurious Langham Hotel in downtown Chicago during FabTech Chicago, North America’s largest metal forming, fabricating, welding, and finishing expo.

🎬 What We Filmed

While we weren’t on the show floor itself, we covered Peddinghaus' private evening event, hosted just outside the House of Blues. This was an exclusive experience for their top clients, complete with celebrity appearances from Jay Williams (former NBA player and ESPN analyst) and David Nihill, an internationally known comedian and bestselling author.

From behind-the-scenes photo ops to high-energy speeches, our goal was to capture everything clean, cinematic, and stress-free for the client.

We powered everything with USB-C battery sleds using knockoff Sony NPF batteries — one battery lasted all day. The Lumix S1 fed directly to the venue’s projectors, so the audience could see the close-up footage in real time.

All cameras were mounted to a Magnus VT-6000 tripod using super clamps and ball heads.
